The Definition
Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind.
Beginning in early childhood and throughout our lives we have all
been confronted, frequently, unexpectedly, with significant personal
losses such as death and divorce. The list, among many others,
includes trauma; moving; job termination; miscarriage; retirement;
death of a pet; financial and health issues; and addiction
withdrawal.
Grief can manifest itself in a variety of ways. Intense sadness,
guilt, anger, physical discomfort, sleeplessness, or an inability to
concentrate or make decisions. These are just a few examples of the
symptoms people may experience.
Since every person is unique, every person will experience grief in
their own individual and unique way.
The Problem
While grief is normal and natural, much of the information passed on
within our society about dealing with grief is not helpful. Grief is
the emotional response to loss, but most of the information we have
learned about dealing with loss is intellectual.
The majority of “incorrect ideas” about dealing with loss can be
summed up in six easily recognizable myths. However, most people
have never questioned their validity.

The Solution
The Moving Beyond Loss Program offers you a time proven, safe, loving
and professionally guided environment in which you will have the
opportunity to identify all the losses that have affected your life
from the most recent to your distant past, openly express your
deepest feelings surrounding your loss (es) and then move forward
with an action plan leading to the completion of the pain and grief
you have been carrying. No one will judge you.
If you have experienced a loss and wish to move beyond your grief,
participation in this program offers you the chance for a richer and
more fulfilling life. The tools that you learn and the internal
shift you experience will help you make the most of your
relationships with others and prevent future losses from being as
devastating.
